Tyrone and Erykah

Tyrone and Erykah lived with their addicted mother and strict stepfather in the middle of the ghetto. The family was extremely poor and one night the children overheard the stepfather speak about the children. He wanted to leave the two children in an abandoned city, what was known by the name of ‘ghost town’. He wanted to do this, because there was not enough food left for the kids. Erykah started to panic, after she realised that they would be thrown to the wolves. Tyrone, on the other hand, had a plan; he decided to collect a few pebbles which he hid in his pocket.

The following day, the three of them walked to ghost town. Tyrone left a trail of pebbles behind him as he was following his stepfather. When the stepfather ditched the kids, the children found their way back to the house, because of the pebbles. As soon as they knocked on the door, their stepfather reacted angrily. He pretended that he was concerned about the children, because he thought that they were ‘lost’.

After a while, the strict stepfather tried to convince the mother to ditch the children again. Tyrone overheard the conversation again and wanted to collect some pebbles. Unfortunately, the stepfather locked the door of the house. Tyrone decided to change his strategy by leaving a trial of bread. When the stepfather ditched them again, they found out that birds ate the trial of bread.

On the third morning, after they were abandoned, Erykah met a dog that led her and her brother to a cottage made of chocolate. The hungry children began to eat from the house. After some time, they realised that an old woman was watching them. Embarrassed by the fact that they ate a piece of her house, they started to apologise. Luckily, the old woman was very forgiving and she even invited to children to enjoy more food inside of her house. She cooked for them and let them sleep over.

The following morning the children discovered that the old woman was not nice at all. The old lady turned out to be an evil witch. Her house was her way to lure children. Her plan was to make Tyrone fat, so that she could eat him after she was done with him. The witch was not interested in eating Erykah, so she decided to turn the young girl into a slave.

The witch measured Tyrone's fingers every day to check if he was fat enough. What the witch did not know was that Tyrone stuck a bone through the bars of his cage, so that she could never measure the real size of his fingers. The witch, who was basically blind, did not see or feel the difference. After a while, she decided to eat Tyrone anyway, even though he was not fat enough. She ordered Erykah to boil some water, so that she could cook Tyrone. She also wanted to burn Erykah in the oven, so she told Erykah to preheat the oven. Erykah acted like she did not understand the oven and as soon as the witch leaned over to help Erykah, she pushed the witch in the oven.

Erykah freed Tyrone and together they explored the house. They immediately discovered a box full of pearls and precious stones. They decided to take the valuable box with them. Erykah saw the friendly dog again and he helped her and Tyrone find their house again. They discovered that their stepfather died shortly after their departure. Their mother stopped drinking together they sold the valuable box.
